Job Description:
Our law firm client is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of substantive construction defect litigation experience to join its litigation team. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney who can independently manage cases while collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, drafting, and case management skills, along with the ability to handle complex construction-related disputes from inception through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction defect litigation matters from pre-suit through trial preparation
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal correspondence
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
- Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and court appearances
- Communicate directly with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and carriers
- Analyze construction documents, contracts, and defect-related claims
- Coordinate discovery, document review, and case strategy with litigation team members
- Maintain accurate billing and case management records
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to meet deadlines and client objectives
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of substantive construction defect litigation experience required
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Experience using ProLaw or familiarity with ProLaw is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment
