Senior Marketing Manager, Optical Sensors

We are LSP – Light Sensors & Photonics, one of three business units within ams OSRAM, advancing the digitalization of light. At LSP, we go beyond traditional sensing—combining light, silicon, and system expertise to enable digital photonics solutions. Our focus is clear: powering next-generation applications in data centers, AR/VR, mobile and automotive, where light becomes a critical interface for data, perception, and interaction. This evolution marks a shift from components to integrated photonics systems —driving performance, scalability, and innovation in high-growth segments.

The primary objective of this role is to drive revenue growth and develop the regional opportunity funnel for the ams OSRAM IOS sensor portfolio through close collaboration with Sales, Product Lines, Application Engineering and Channel Partners.

The Senior Marketing Manager acts as a key regional marketing interface, translating portfolio capabilities and market insights into customer opportunities and focused execution; mass market development is a key focus area.

To achieve this objective, the role will:

• Identify and develop regional growth opportunities across priority applications, customers and the IOS sensor portfolio.
• Actively drive and support end-customer engagements for strategic must-win design-in and design-win opportunities in close cooperation with Sales and technical teams.
• Work closely with regional marketing colleagues and global Product Lines to align customer needs, portfolio priorities and execution.
• Conduct regular growth reviews with Sales teams to align on priorities, opportunity progress and acceleration actions.
• Support the management of the regional opportunity funnel, ensuring transparency, prioritization and timely escalation.
• Develop Mass Market business through close collaboration with distributors and reps, including partner enablement and joint customer engagement.
• Capture regional market trends, customer requirements and competitive insights to inform portfolio positioning and go-to-market activities.
• Support regional promotional activities such as customer tech-days, tradeshows, exhibitions and campaigns to drive demand and customer engagement.

We are looking for a technically strong, customer-facing marketing professional who can connect sensor technology with commercial opportunities and proactively drive business development in the US region.

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a comparable technical field; a business qualification is a plus.
• Proven experience in the semiconductor or electronic components industry, ideally with exposure to optical sensors and application-driven business development.
• Ability to quickly understand and articulate complex sensor portfolios and discuss technical concepts, applications and trade-offs with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong customer engagement and communication skills, capable of building credibility with engineers, purchasing and management.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, with strong initiative, an ownership mindset and the ability to turn opportunities into concrete actions.
• Solid commercial judgment and experience working closely with Sales to develop opportunities and drive revenue growth.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to coordinate stakeholders in an international matrix organization.
• Experience working with distributors and reps, including technical enablement and joint opportunity development.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the region and occasionally globally.
