About The Role
The candidate must batch products using computer or manual controls, use a proper mix, make necessary raw material adjustments, and perform daily plant maintenance while providing excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.
This is a Roving Batch Operator position located in Dallas, Forney, South Dallas, and Downtown Dallas.
What You'll Accomplish
- Efficiently batching concrete using computer or manual controls, adhering to proper mix designs, and making necessary raw material adjustments as directed by the Quality Control department are essential. A strong understanding of the correct application of each mix design is also essential.
- Using computer or manual controls, efficiently batches product with proper mix and making necessary raw material adjustments. Understand the proper use of each mix design
- Completes customer orders, schedule deliveries, paperwork and small plant maintenance. May run front end loader or other material handling equipment to charge plant with aggregate, sand or other materials. Assists plant management as needed with other duties as assigned. Ensures that safety, compliance and environmental requirements are followed at all times.
- Effectively communicates with the drivers to efficiently complete customer orders.
- Ability to schedule deliveries to meet the customer needs.
- Performing daily plant maintenance, including manual lifting, shoveling, lubricating plant components, and making minor plant adjustments.
- Demonstrating strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Interacting professionally with both internal and external customers.
- Communicating effectively with team members to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Conducting daily inspections of plant and equipment.
- Prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Collaborating with plant management to identify and address current and potential issues.
- Ensuring adherence to all health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Promptly reporting any unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents to the supervisor.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Professional Experience (Required): Minimum of 1-3 years of related customer service or dispatch environment experience.
- Computer Skills: Dispatch systems, Personal Computer, Telephone and Telephone Headset.
- Basic computer and mathematics skills
- Sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time
- Climb on equipment, stairs, and ladders as needed
- Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground conditions) and enclosed spaces
- Work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry, and/or dusty conditions.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed which will include Saturdays and overnights
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
