About The Role
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a 2nd Shift Utility Operator to support operations at the Quarry located in Millville, WV. This position is primarily responsible to safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport raw materials (such as rock, gravel, and other aggregates) within the quarry site.
What You'll Accomplish
- Operate and monitor quarry equipment such as loaders, conveyors, crushers, and screening systems.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Assist with plant operations including material handling, stockpiling, and feeding raw materials into processing equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing housekeeping duties around the plant and quarry site.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and MSHA regulations while working on site.
- Support production teams by assisting with equipment startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting operational issues.
- Use heavy equipment such as front-end loaders or skid steers to move aggregate and other materials as needed.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth daily operations and production targets are met.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required Work Experience: Previous experience working in a quarry, mining, construction, or heavy industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, or plant machinery.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following all site procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with equipment inspections or minor maintenance.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, or weekends as needed.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
