The Purchasing Manager Role
We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Manager to handle and oversee the procurement of goods and services through appropriate bidding processes. The successful candidate will achieve optimum price value while maintaining superior quality consistent with our established control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain par stock on all inventories and notify the controller of any variances or deviations.
- Ensure that all purchases, requisitions, etc. have proper approvals and all orders are placed and received in accordance with our policies and procedures.
- Oversee and assist in unloading, receiving, sorting, stocking, securing, and distributing goods.
- Participate in the inventory process (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Secure competitive bids and maintain supporting documentation.
- Review banquet event orders and consult with management for special requirements.
- Interview, train, supervise, and develop purchasing and/or receiving staff.
- Track all price changes.
- Monitor and prepare financial reports.
- Attend meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years of related progressive experience in hotel or related field.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safe food handling standards and beverage management.
- Previous supervisory responsibilities required.
- Proficiency in Windows, Company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
