The Purchasing Manager Role
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing effective procurement strategies to achieve optimum price value.
- Maintaining par stock on all inventories and notifying the controller of any variances or deviations.
- Ensuring that all purchases, requisitions, etc. have proper approvals and all orders are placed and received in accordance with our policies and procedures.
- Overseeing and assisting in unloading, receiving, sorting, stocking, securing, and distributing goods.
- Participating in the inventory process (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Securing competitive bids and maintaining supporting documentation.
- Reviewing banquet event orders and consulting with management for special requirements.
- Interviewing, training, supervising, and developing purchasing and/or receiving staff.
- Tracking all price changes.
- Monitoring and preparing financial reports.
- Attending meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of related progressive experience in hotel or related field.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safe food handling standards and beverage management.
- Previous supervisory responsibilities required.
- Proficiency in Windows, Company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
