GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Project Managers are responsible for managing and leading all facets of a project with a strong focus on project financials, scheduling, coordination, and communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct the project kick-off, coordinating the schedules of technical staff, ensure that quality standards are met, hire subcontractors, manage project budgets, confirm customer invoicing, and provide customers and project team members with project status updates. A Project Manager is also responsible for assisting management in the strategic project-related workflow process, coordinating and reporting project status updates, documenting and pricing changes to the scope of work, and driving technical innovation that brings projects in on-time and under budget. A project Manager will provide weekly updates to the Director of Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
Must have high school diploma or GED. Preferred 4 year degree from a college or university.
REQUIRED EXPERTISE & EXPERIENCE:
- Must have technical field experience in completing structured cabling, security, fire alarm, or audiovisual installation/service work
- All team members must be physically able to climb ladders, work on man lifts, work in confined spaces, push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be self-motivated and professionally efficient when unsupervised
- Must possess the aptitude to learn new technologies
- Must possess a certification for completion of OSHA 30-hour training
- A LVU (Unrestricted Low Voltage) License is preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Manager
- Minimum 5 years of industry installation experience
- Must be proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
- PMI PMP Certification or BICSI RTPM Certification required
RESPONSIBILITY FOR FUNDS, PROPERTY and EQUIPMENT
Responsible for company vehicle and equipment, which includes but is not limited to iPad and cell phone and customer property. Employee is required to track usage of equipment and will participate in regular inventory checks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Required to provide direction and management to installation technicians, foreman, and project engineers for all disciplines, may have foreman as direct reports.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as project drawings, policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write detailed reports; Ability to read and create Gannt charts; Ability to write clear and concise correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Ability to perform these mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to utilize industry specific knowledge in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions; Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a complex nature.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Under supervision of the Director of Operations, where standard practice enables the employee to direct technicians on the successful and safe completion of work. Must be able to work independently.

Responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of team work operations.
DECISION MAKING
Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making and which would not only affect the operating efficiency of the individual involved, but would also affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele.

ACCURACY

Contacts of considerable importance with other contractors, end user customers, or other outside representatives, wherein the manner of handling these contacts has a significant bearing on the organization's position and operation. Requires tact in discussing problems and presenting data and making recommendations.
EMPLOYEE CONTACT
Frequent contacts with the manager and Central Support Office, such as those required in coordination of effort, generally in normal course of performing duties.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must possess a valid driver's license, proof of legal ability to work, and pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Must have a clean driving record
- Licenses required are based on local and state market jurisdiction.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
Intermediate computer skills required. Position works with multiple software systems daily.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Must be able to position self in order to inspect and oversee installation of systems in customer sites (this includes bending, twisting, crouching, climbing on ladders up to 20 feet above ground). Potentially required to crawl in attics or small spaces. Must be able to handle temperature changes when working in inside buildings (basements and attics) and outdoors. Must be able to move, transport, position and install or remove equipment in weight of up to 50 pounds.
Position requires driving company vehicle on roads and highways, with multiple stops, in all weather conditions. Driving frequently is up to one hour at time, and occasionally more dependent on schedule, road, and traffic conditions.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Drives motor vehicle and works independently in field, at customer sites.
TRAVEL
The ability to travel is required. Assigned projects may be out of state, potentially requiring site visits.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Normal work schedule is five days a week, eight hours a day. Position often works additional hours based on customer demands.
