What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surf Instructor and Camp/Event Coordinator position at AmpSurf?
THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION THAT COULD BECOME A REG. POSITION.
AmpSurf™ is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate (PIER) all people with disabilities and their families through Adaptive Surf Therapy and other outdoor activities.
We are looking for a individuals to assist our growing non-profit to run surf instruction at the beach for our summer surf program, our Surf on Satrudays program and our VetSurf program
Applicants must be able to:
- Have valid California drivers licence with a clean driving record.
- Be able to pass a background check
- Be able to work weekdays and Saturdays from 8am-2pm
- Be able to commit to working from May 1st through Sept. 30th without needing more than 1-2 days off per week.
- BE FIRST AID/CPR AND WATER SAFETY CERTIFIED
- BE SURF COACH CERTIFIED AND BE ABLE TO COMPLETE A SURF INSTRUCTOR COURSE PRIOR TO STARTING
- Coordinate and conduct able bodied and adaptive surf events with up to 16 participants and volunteers per day.
- Use computers and online platforms (including social media) to create posts, surveys and registration for events. This is a part-time seasonal position with up to 36 hours per week available.
- Use Quickbooks Time to enter daily hours
- Knowledge of and ability to surf is required....If you can surf and are competent to teach others to surf this job is for you!

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
