Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer with a strong Quality Engineering (QE) background to validate the performance, scalability, and reliability of Point of Sale (POS) applications and Kafka-based distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in performance testing tools, workload modeling, and analyzing system bottlenecks across modern, event-driven architectures.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests for POS applications and backend services.
• Validate the performance and reliability of Kafka producers, consumers, topics, and event-driven workflows.
• Create realistic workload models and test scenarios based on business requirements and production traffic.
• Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot application, database, and infrastructure performance bottlenecks.
• Monitor application performance using industry-standard monitoring and profiling tools.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps, and QA teams to resolve performance issues.
• Develop automated performance test suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Prepare detailed performance reports with metrics, analysis, and optimization recommendations.
• Participate in release validation and ensure applications meet defined performance SLAs.
• Contribute to performance engineering best practices and continuous process improvements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in Performance Testing or Performance Engineering.
• Strong experience testing enterprise web applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with POS (Point of Sale) applications or retail systems.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Expertise with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or NeoLoad.
• Experience analyzing JVM, application server, database, and infrastructure performance.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed system architecture.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
