Automation & Process Engineer – Offshore OperationsPosition Overview - The Automation & Process Engineer will lead the design, integration, and deployment of advanced SCADA systems and process facility automation to support our expanding offshore drilling operations. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this role will own the SCADA development and process improvement roadmap, driving platform capacity upgrades and implementing scalable automation solutions that enhance production efficiency and reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute SCADA and process automation strategies to maximize production throughput.Lead the design, integration, and optimization of automation systems across offshore production and processing platforms.Collaborate with Facilities Engineering to upsize platform capacity for new drilling programs.Define and implement commissioning and functional testing protocols for SCADA integration.Provide technical leadership during major incidents and conduct root cause analysis.Maintain standardized documentation and ensure continual compliance.Manage multiple projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines.Mentor junior engineers and offshore operators Required Skills & ExpertiseExpert-level proficiency in SCADA platforms (Ignition, WonderWare, Cygnet, FactoryTalk).Advanced PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and communication protocols (Modbus, OPC).Strong background in process control, alarm management, and safety shutdown systems.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex offshore automation projects.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred).10 years in automation and process engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.Direct experience in offshore oil and gas operations is required.Industry certifications (ISA, IEC) strongly preferred.Ability to work a hybrid office/field schedule based in Long Beach, CA.

Salary : $175,000 - $190,000
