Full-Time | Four 10-Hour Days | 7:00 AM–5:45 PM | Rotating Weekday Off
Amplify Children's Academy is seeking a warm, creative, and dedicated Pre-K Teacher to join The Grove, our combined Pre-K and Kindergarten classroom.
The Grove combines the curiosity and exploration of Pre-K with the academic expectations of Kindergarten. The teacher will support students in meeting applicable West Virginia educational standards while maintaining Amplify's Reggio-inspired approach to learning.
Schedule
- Full-time, four 10-hour days each week with a rotating weekday off
- Must be available to work Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:45 PM
- The Grove follows an academic-year schedule, beginning in mid-August and continuing through the end of May
- Summer employment opportunities are available through Amplify's summer camp program
What You'll Do
- Plan and teach: Create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate, Reggio-inspired learning experiences that support children's academic, social-emotional, physical, and creative development.
- Assess and support learning: Observe, assess, and document children's progress; set learning goals; and adapt activities, materials, and instruction to meet individual children's strengths, needs, and interests.
- Create a safe, engaging classroom: Maintain a welcoming, organized environment while providing consistent supervision and supporting children's health, safety, independence, and well-being.
- Partner with families: Communicate regularly with families about children's experiences and progress through daily communication, LifeCubby, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Collaborate with your teaching team: Work closely with the other Grove teacher to plan, reflect on, and continually improve classroom experiences and learning.
- Meet educational and program expectations: Support students in meeting applicable West Virginia Board of Education standards and follow Amplify policies, procedures, and applicable requirements.
- Build strong relationships: Develop positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and coworkers while representing Amplify professionally and living out our values of love, knowledge, joy, and grit.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with Pre-K, Kindergarten, or early elementary-aged children.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, observation, assessment, and documentation.
- Ability to create engaging learning experiences while responding to individual children's needs and interests.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- A warm, patient, dependable approach and a genuine interest in supporting young children's growth and learning.
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia-inspired education is preferred.
