Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain a strong Direct Material Global Procurement Team to ensure compliance with trade policy and procedures while keeping the supply chain moving quickly and efficiently at the lowest total landed cost possible.
- Working cross-functionally to understand needs for third-party engagement across the business, identifying and evaluating potential partners and suppliers, drafting and issuing RFQs, leading the negotiation of key terms and conditions as well as pricing, managing commercial and supply chain issues, identifying and executing on cost reduction opportunities, and management of third-party relationships.
- Identify reliable sources, request bids, evaluate quotations, make supplier selections and coordinate the negotiation of contracts as required to purchase materials and services.
- Support outsourcing and purchasing activities, quoting, scope of work, and requisitions related to product development while ensuring suppliers' on-time delivery.
- Deliver value to the organization through developing RFx documents and evaluating supplier proposals (scope, cost, timing, risk, etc.).
- Lead cross-functional strategic planning efforts and clearly communicate strategic sourcing options and final recommendations.
- Engage and collaborate with internal departments to ensure contract agreement compliance pertaining to legal implications/terms and conditions required to protect the company.
- Manage business transactions in ERP including Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Receipts, and Invoice processing.
- Develop and execute cost savings strategies to support company goals and departmental commitments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to understand requirements, timelines and align procurement strategies accordingly, effectively communicating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Provide financial updates and recommendations improving operational results and profitability.
- Create, develop, and monitor KPI metrics for all logistics needs to include cost, tracking, and delivery.
- Develop strategic vendor relationships and drive negotiations to ensure targeted cost savings.
- Develop and maintain a scorecard to track all raw material KPI's.
- Liaison between program, production, R&D, and customers to ensure that all deliveries are done via the most cost-effective method, while being tracked and reported upon as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of work experience required, preferably in procurement and/or logistics within the manufacturing industry.
- Specific expertise in sourcing raw materials and components globally in a high-volume automotive, commercial vehicle, or battery manufacturing organization.
- Specific experience sourcing battery raw materials (cathode, electrolyte, anode material, separator, structural parts, aluminum foil, copper foil) in a relevant industry.
- Specific expertise in leading a Procurement team in a global organization, preferably automotive or commercial vehicle related.
- Proven track record of successful supplier relationship management, negotiation, and cost optimization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, perform cost analyses, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel internationally.
