What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC Development Chemist position at Amphastar Pharmaceuticals Inc.?
The QC Development Chemist will perform chemical laboratory tests on pharmaceutical raw materials, components, component raw materials, in-process, finished products, and stability samples, will complete routine assignments and will assist as needed on special projects and NCR investigations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned).
- Perform, record, and report the results of chemical tests for raw materials, in process, and finished products by using various instruments such as HPLC, GC, LC, LCIMS, LCIMS/MS, NMR, FTTR, UV, and AA.
- Analytical method development and method validation for pharmaceutical products.
- Perform the formulation studies for various dosage forms.
- Incorporate regulatory compliance of cGMP/GLP standards into SOPs, protocols and LTMs development.
- Perform investigation of test results that are out-of-specifications as directed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or relevant scientific degree from a four-year college or university and have about 5 years work experience. Master of Science in Chemistry and have about 2 years work experience. Experience in the use of UV NIS, pH meters, and balances is required. Familiarity with HPLC, GC, and FTIR is preferred. Able to understand and perform analysis per written L TMs and SOPs. Working knowledge of cGMP in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Inhalation product testing experience is more desirable.
