Position Overview
- Role: Behavior Intervention Specialist
- Location: Anoka, Minnesota
- Full-time (37.5 paid hours per work)
- Hours: Hours would vary slightly but 8:30-4:10 typically
- The BIS will work with an additional BIS and SpEd Administrator
- Support 4 Elementary Schools
- Consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports for the students
- Conduct functional behavior assessments
- Support the development and implementation of IEPs in accordance with district practice and state and federal requirements
- Use flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs and responds calmly during crisis situations, when necessary
- May be required to use restrictive procedures
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in a Special Education field (Tier 3 or 4 required)
- BCBAs will also be considered for this position
- Background check and drug screening required
- Experience teaching school-aged children with disabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

- Rates: $40-50/hour
