Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location(s): New York, NY or San Francisco, CA
Skillset required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar.
- 5 years primarily in consumer electronics and similar products.
- Advanced solid/surface modeling, SolidWorks preferred.
- DFM/DFA across injection molding, sheet metal stamping, machining, and casting.
- Vendor-ready documentation: 3D CAD, 2D drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions.
- Prototyping (3D printing, casting, rapid tooling) plus hands-on electronics/firmware prototyping.
- Confident client-facing presentation and storytelling.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Owns mechanical engineering activities autonomously across interdisciplinary projects, from concept through design-for-manufacturability to production.
- Leads client conversations within their domain, framing trade-offs to guide client choices.
- Mentors junior engineers and contributes to the global engineering community of practice.
- Opportunity to lead small project teams and contribute to business development (proposals, pitches).
