Role Summary

Primary Focus

This is a senior infrastructure engineering and platform modernization role supporting large-scale enterprise environments with 20,000 servers across datacenters and cloud platforms. The position combines Linux/Unix administration, incident management, automation, cloud migration, virtualization, and infrastructure transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead P1/P2 incident response, root cause analysis, and service restoration
• Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux lifecycle, upgrades, patching, and compliance
• Automate infrastructure using Ansible, Chef, Bash, KornShell, and Python
• Lead RHEL 7 to RHEL 8 migration projects
• Migrate legacy Unix platforms (AIX, HP-UX, Solaris) to Linux and Azure
• Support hybrid cloud environments across VMware, Nutanix, VxRail, and Azure
• Design and test disaster recovery and high-availability solutions
• Support enterprise platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Teamcenter, and HPC environments
• Maintain security, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and compliance standards

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will have:

• 7-10 years of Linux/Unix engineering experience
• Experience supporting very large enterprise environments (10,000 servers)
• Deep expertise in incident management and RCA
• Hands-on migration experience from Unix to Linux and on-premises to cloud
• Strong automation and infrastructure-as-code skills
• Experience leading modernization and transformation initiatives
  
  

Overall Level

This is a senior-to-lead infrastructure engineering role best suited for an experienced Linux/Unix architect or SME with strong enterprise operations, cloud migration, automation, and modernization experience. The requirement to support 20,000 servers and lead major transformation initiatives places it at the upper end of the senior engineer/SME spectrum.
