Job Overview:
The client is seeking an attorney to serve as a Contractor Associate General Counsel. This position reports to senior legal leadership. Primary responsibilities include reviewing contracts and grants and certifying them for legal sufficiency; providing legal guidance on procurement, vendor transitions, regulatory compliance, and contract compliance; participating in vendor bid protest matters; and conducting risk assessments. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with public records requests, rulemaking initiatives, legislative analysis, and other special projects as assigned. This position requires periodic in-office presence. This is a contract position not eligible for employee benefits, and the successful candidate must obtain their own professional liability insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate should have familiarity with public procurement processes and rulemaking procedures, the ability to manage and prioritize a large volume of work, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Prior HIPAA experience is preferred, along with a demonstrated commitment to client service and operational support.
Education:
JD required. Active bar license in good standing required. At least one year of relevant legal experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review a high volume of contracts, amendments, and procurement-related documents annually.
- Provide legal support for grants and contracts involving suppliers of services, products, equipment, and software.
- Provide legal guidance on contract drafting, interpretation, procurement matters, and operational legal issues.
- Collaborate with internal business units, administrative teams, and external agencies or stakeholders as needed.
- Assist with rulemaking and regulatory initiatives.
- Support legislative projects, including bill analysis.
- Complete special projects as assigned, including public records matters and legal research projects.
- Writing sample of no more than 10 pages
- Professional liability insurance prior to start
