Job Summary
Payroll Specialist will support bi-weekly payroll processing for the Company, 1,000 employees, in concert with the HR Payroll (PR) Manager, to comply with state, federal and local legal requirements. This work includes a variety of payroll preparation, exception reports, sick time off and vacation time, wage garnishments, verification of employment, taxes statements, status updates and rate/salary changes, etc. Specialist exhibits the knowledge and expertise needed for payroll and supports human resources administration. Work in conjunction with the Payroll Manager to perform at a specialist level and as a liaison between the Payroll and Human Resources recruiting team. Very strong customer service and positive communications skills are required to support all levels of management, field and corporate employees. A high level of discretion and confidentiality is required.
Key Responsibilities Include:(But not limited to the following)
- Performs daily payroll functions
- Prepares and administer bi-weekly payroll in different systems
- Reconciles payroll/reporting in collaboration with the Payroll Manager
- Updates employee transfers, salary changes, new hires/hourly status, status, transfers, etc.
- Assists employees with general questions about their check, hours worked, missing time, etc.
- Conducts research to facilitate needed results.
- Assists with 401k enrollment
- Creates manual checks for payroll or bonuses as requested.
- Obtain supervisory approval of timecard discrepancies from field or office management
- Responds to payroll and/or HR inquiries from managers and employees for a variety of new hire information, employee benefits updates, status changes, and other general inquiries
- Assists and process of Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage Payroll
- Enter and Process Payroll on the LCP Tracker
- Daily communication with Field Foremen, Superintendents and Area Managers for Payroll
- Run and Review daily payroll reports
Qualifications
- Payroll and HR: 3 years for an employee population of 500-1000 a plus
- Ability to run ad hoc payroll reports and provide analysis
- Systems: ADP highly preferred, MS Office, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Dependable and responsible who can take direction and work with little supervision
- Excellent communication and group presentation skills
- Bilingual: English/Spanish

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
