Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This vital role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems across various industrial and commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in electrical work, mechanical knowledge, and leadership skills to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings using schematics and technical manuals
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately
- Operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks and troubleshooting
- Perform welding as needed for electrical system installations or repairs
- Conduct facilities maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting electrical failures in manufacturing environments
- Supervise apprentices or junior team members to ensure safety protocols and quality standards are met
Skills
- Extensive electrical experience with a solid understanding of residential, commercial, and industrial systems
- Proficiency with schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to facilities maintenance and manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software
- Ability to operate tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment accurately
- Strong supervisory skills with leadership experience in team settings
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members in English
- Knowledge of welding techniques necessary for electrical installations or repairs
- Familiarity with residential painting is a plus for facility aesthetic projects
