What are the responsibilities and job description for the BCBA position at Amore Enchanted HomeCare?
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Onsite/Virtual Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide high-quality in-home behavioral services and RBT supervision for an 11-year-old male client with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The ideal candidate will not only possess strong clinical expertise in severe self-injurious behavior (SIB) and functional communication training (FCT), but will also serve as an effective supervisor and mentor. You will design the treatment programming and directly oversee Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to ensure the behavior plan is implemented with high fidelity and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Client Profile & Clinical Focus
- Communication: Limited vocal speech (utilizes words like "momma" and "no"). Needs assessment and implementation of a robust Functional Communication Training (FCT) or AAC framework.
- Target Behaviors for Reduction: Severe self-injurious behavior (body flinging, repetitive head-banging requiring a protective helmet), and extreme separation distress/unsafe behavior when caregivers leave the room.
- Daily Living Skills (ADLs): Toilet training support (currently utilizes briefs; shows awareness/fussiness when soiled), expanding independent utensil feeding, and touch-desensitization protocols (client currently resists physical touch/vitals checking while awake).
- Interests/Reinforcers: Highly motivated by music videos and educational children's programming (e.g., Elmo), which are effective for pairing and reinforcement.
Key Responsibilities & Supervision Duties
- RBT Supervision & Oversight: Provide ongoing, high-quality supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) assigned to the case, ensuring compliance with the 5% BACB monthly supervision requirements.
- Fidelity & Training: Conduct competency assessments, deliver hands-on behavioral skills training (BST), and monitor RBT data collection to ensure the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) is run safely and accurately.
- Clinical Case Management: Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing behavioral assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, AFLS). Design individualized BIPs with a heavy focus on crisis management and environmental modifications.
- Parent Training: Provide robust, empathetic parent training to help the family safely manage transitions and establish independent routines.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate professionally with the client’s nursing team and family to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential in good standing with the BACB.
- Supervision Requirement: Must have completed the BCBA 8-Hour Supervision Training to legally supervise RBTs.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with ASD, specifically with youth displaying high-magnitude self-injurious behaviors (SIB).
- Proven experience effectively managing, training, and retaining RBTs on high-acuity cases.
- Strong crisis management skills (Safety-Care, PCM, or CPI certification is highly preferred).
