We are looking for a skilled Test Engineer to support the build, installation, commissioning, and testing of equipment and processes in our lab and pilot facilities in Houston and Brooklyn. In this role, you will leverage your engineering expertise and troubleshooting skills to ensure seamless test execution while maintaining strict adherence to lab safety protocols. You will also be responsible for conducting data analysis and driving improvements in equipment performance. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where safety, quality, performance, and collaboration are critical.
The primary location for this role is Houston, TX with periodic travel to Brooklyn, NY for training and test execution.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Take a significant role in the development of comprehensive test plans to verify the functionality, and reliability of components or systems given the requirements.
- Select and procure appropriate process equipment to allow successful test execution.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including process engineers, design engineers, electrical and instrumentation engineers to ensure complex test equipment is properly installed and calibrated.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on engineering documents such as P&ID, Component List, 3D SolidWorks, SOP, and keep them up to date
- Work with other engineers to build and install prototype test units in the lab and integrate with the lab infrastructure
- Participate and add value to the Process Hazard Analysis
- Lead and participate in commissioning test equipment, prototypes and demonstration units in the lab and pilot plant
- Lead the test execution by following SOPs, Test Conditions and lab safety rules
- Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues or failures encountered during testing by employing a systematic approach to identify root causes.
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of test equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and accuracy of measurements.
