Interim Director of Patient Admissions Needed in Far Rockaway, New York!

The Position

• An Interim Director of Patient Admissions is needed to lead admissions and registration at a hospital with a decentralized registration process.
• Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle, this leader will oversee approximately 40 FTEs, including three direct reports.
• Key responsibilities include improving registration accuracy, strengthening customer service, training staff on best practices, and establishing clear expectations and accountability. This leader will also assess the decentralized registration process and help reduce errors that affect patient care and financial performance.
• The ideal candidate will have director-level patient admissions experience, strong customer service skills, and an understanding of New York City hospital operations and safety-net care. This leader should be able to coach a team through high turnover and work effectively in a union environment.
• This onsite role follows a Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule and includes 24-hour call responsibility.
• Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Director-level experience leading patient admissions or patient access required.
• Experience in a New York City hospital, safety-net hospital, or union environment preferred.

Compensation Details

• Compensation Range: $145,000 to $150,000 annually.
• The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
• The listed base compensation range represents a good faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of this job posting and may be subject to future adjustments.
