You will design and build high-performance APIs and data ingestion pipelines that power mission-critical applications supporting national security operations. These systems must operate reliably at scale, integrate with numerous external data sources, and run within AWS GovCloud environments.

- Designing and optimizing PostgreSQL schemas and queries for high-performance workloads
- Solving complex data integration challenges across multiple systems and formats
- Building reliable ingestion pipelines capable of processing large volumes of operational data
- Improving system reliability, observability, and performance across APIs and ingestion services
- Collaborating with engineers and architects to evolve system architecture and platform capabilities
- Troubleshooting production issues and continuously improving system stability and efficiency
- Writing clear, maintainable code and well-documented APIs used across the platform
- Helping drive engineering best practices across the team
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
- 4 years of experience building production software systems
- Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs or microservices
- Experience working in AWS cloud environments and building cloud-native services
- Experience working with AWS S3 and cloud-based storage architectures
- Experience working within AWS GovCloud or other regulated environments is highly valued
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Proficiency in Python or similar backend programming languages
- Experience designing data ingestion pipelines or integration systems
- Experience with event streaming or data routing tools such as Kafka, NiFi, Confluent, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and performance tradeoffs
- Experience troubleshooting complex systems in production environments
- Ability to design systems with security, scalability, and maintainability in mind
