• Title: Packaging Specialist
• Duration: 6 months Contract
• Shift: Mon-Fri 7 AM to 3:30 PM
• Location: Athens, OH 45701
• Payrate: $15.50/hour on W2 without benefits

Job Summary:

The Packaging Specialist I supports the packaging and assembly of products according to the production schedule, including production reagents and kit components from raw materials through bottled and labeled finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support packaging processes by following approved work steps and instructions.
• Meet Master Production Schedule due dates while maintaining high-quality products and cost targets.
• Ensure packaged and labeled components meet visual and integrity specifications.
• Conduct required in-process checks and inspections.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Address audit deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Follow approved production documentation with careful attention to detail and near-perfect accuracy.
• Perform all duties in compliance with Quidel’s Quality System and established business policies.
• Work closely with Packaging Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, Packaging Specialists, and QC for Line Clearances.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Combination of manufacturing and laboratory settings.
• Ability to operate laboratory machinery and visually monitor products for quality.
• Ability to maneuver throughout the laboratory environment and lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
• Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
• Occasional long hours may be required to meet manufacturing demands.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or minimum 1 year of related manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with current GMP and ISO quality regulations preferred.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory devices and equipment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, flexibility, ability to follow directions, and teamwork required.

Pay: $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
