Position Summary The Senior Manager and External Affairs Lead, P&PA plays a central role in ensuring the internal and external experience, alignment, visibility, and engagement of Amicus’ global Patient & Professional Advocacy (P&PA) function. This individual will play a significant role in internal and external Patient Advocacy communications, support and strengthen patient community engagement, help engage ATCRA-FORM-AT-002-C Revision: 03 Effective Date: 30 Mar 2022 CONFIDENTIAL Page 3 of 4 employees around our Mission Focused Behaviors, and focus on philanthropy and volunteerism. The role blends external storytelling and community partnership with internal engagement and focus on our mission, ensuring that patient and advocate voices are fully integrated into Amicus’ culture, strategy, and communications. The role will coordinate closely with Corporate Affairs for communications.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Manage the global P&PA communications calendar and serve as a liaison between the P&PA team and Corporate Affairs. Draft and gain alignment around content and manage the necessary approvals.
  • Oversee content and updates across P&PA for external-facing channels, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and visibility.
  • Maintain global repository of patient stories, images and permissions.
  • Manage the US Champions program, including onboarding of new Champions, compliance oversee
  • Support rollout of signature programs and priority projects, aligning with the team on actionable insights and coordinating communications with Corporate Communications.
  • Manage the Mission Moments program, working with the P&PA team and internal stakeholders to strengthen content and delivery across the organization.
  • Provide special project support for priority initiatives, enhancing visibility, ensuring insights are communicated, and capturing multimedia content as appropriate.
  • Provide operational support for P&PA-led webinars, meetings, and events, including content development in collaboration with program leads.
  • Serve as Grants Manager: coordinate charitable giving and support the co-pay funding review committee process.
  • Drive P&PA culture-building activities, including Healing Beyond Disease (HBD) initiatives, P&PA Lunch & Learns, Mission Moments, and new employee onboarding.
  • Support internal alignment and tracking across therapeutic areas and key advocacy partnerships.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, life sciences, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in program management, budget management, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Understanding rare disease advocacy and the biopharmaceutical ecosystem.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Patient-Centric Mindset: Demonstrated commitment to amplifying patient and advocate voices.
  • Operational Excellence: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Ability to work across functions and with external stakeholders to drive alignment.
  • Strategic Storytelling: Adept at capturing insights and stories that build visibility and strengthen Amicus’ reputation as a patient-dedicated company.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Professional Work Experience Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in patient advocacy, communications, corporate affairs, or nonprofit/biopharma environment.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with demonstrated ability to translate patient insights into communications strategies

Compensation And Benefit Summary

  • The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is between $177,000 and $194,000 year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for various benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan (401K), paid time off, performance-based bonuses, stock options, restricted stock units, and other discretionary awards. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided during the hiring process.
