Sheet Metal Fabricator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw sheet metal into precise, high-quality components and assemblies used across various industries. Your expertise in fabrication techniques, welding, and blueprint interpretation will be essential to delivering exceptional products that meet strict standards and client specifications. Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate sheet metal components.
• Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques to join metal parts according to ASME codes & standards.
• Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Use rigging, crane operations, and forklift equipment to move heavy materials safely within the fabrication area or on construction sites.
• Fabricate ductwork, piping, enclosures, and other custom sheet metal assemblies for construction or manufacturing projects.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols; perform routine inspections of tools and machinery for optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, pipe threading, machining, soldering, and mechanical installations as needed.
• Follow schematics and technical instructions meticulously to produce components that meet quality standards and project deadlines.

Experience

• Proven construction site experience working with sheet metal fabrication or related trades.
• Hands-on experience with MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, plasma cutting, and press brake operations.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills for precise fabrication measurements.
• Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication processes.
• Ability to operate power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and hand tools effectively.
• Mechanical knowledge related to ductwork installation, pipe threading, machining processes, and assembly techniques.
• Experience working with construction or manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment; safety-conscious mindset is essential.
