Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw sheet metal into precise, high-quality components and assemblies used across various industries. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate sheet metal components.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and
welding techniques to join metal parts according to ASME codes & standards. - Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Use rigging, crane operations, and forklift equipment to move heavy materials safely within the fabrication area or on construction sites.
- Fabricate ductwork, piping, enclosures, and other custom sheet metal assemblies for construction or manufacturing projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols; perform routine inspections of tools and machinery for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, pipe threading, machining, soldering, and mechanical installations as needed.
- Follow schematics and technical instructions meticulously to produce components that meet quality standards and project deadlines.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience working with sheet metal fabrication or related trades.
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, plasma cutting, and press brake operations.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills for precise fabrication measurements.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication processes.
- Ability to operate power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and hand tools effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge related to ductwork installation, pipe threading, machining processes, and assembly techniques.
- Experience working with construction or manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment; safety-conscious mindset is essential.
