What are the responsibilities and job description for the Live Haul Manager **MARYLAND/HURLOCK position at Amick Farms?
Effectively communicates with logistics catch machine manager on MM, catch machine, and loader readiness and availability. Position reports to the live haul manager.
- Responsibilities:
- Ensures all live haul equipment is effectively maintained, and downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Writes and maintains effective preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment.
- Ensures mechanics are trained and effectively managed
- Federal inspection on LB
- Keep LB in good working order and ample parts for repair
- Orders parts & keeps them on hand to prevent downtime
- Evaluates different options for equipment and together with live haul manager purchases the best value for Amick Farms.
- Ensures all equipment is spotted on appropriate farms in a timely manner
- Ensures cages are pulled and repaired in a timely manner
- Also schedules work shift hours, and keeps up with attendance
- Runs the shop as cost efficient as possible and keeps equipment operational
- Supervises:
- 2 Catch machine mechanics
- 2 lube techs
- 4 DS mechanics
- 1 NS mechanic
- 2 Cage repair individuals

The shop manager plays a crucial role in communicating with other managers to ensure a good process flow, parts onsite, and keeping equipment on the road. They must keep in constant contact with mechanics, admin clerk, logistics and catch machine manager. Multiple communication avenues will have to be utilized to be effective.
