ED RN – Travel Nursing

Schedule: 36 hours/week guaranteed
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Watertown, New York. The ideal candidate will have strong emergency/critical care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to provide safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State RN License required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- MEDITECH experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Critical Care and charge nurse experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and patient-care skills
- Ability to identify and intervene appropriately in life-threatening situations
- Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and practices
- Ability to assess patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs
- Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in stressful situations
- Strong creative problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to recognize safety concerns and appropriately assess and implement patient-lifting/mobility equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to Emergency Department patients
- Assess patient conditions and promptly identify changes or life-threatening situations
- Administer medications and IV therapies according to established protocols
- Perform phlebotomy and other required clinical procedures
- Maintain patient safety and follow appropriate safety protocols
- Effectively prioritize patient care and delegate duties when appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Provide patient education and support based on individual needs
- May be required to assume Charge Nurse responsibilities
Orientation & Certification Requirements
- Must successfully complete a lethal dysrhythmia examination during probation
- Must become defibrillation certified within six months of employment
- Must complete IV, medication, and phlebotomy certifications during orientation
Pay: $60.00 - $68.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 per week
