Position Overview
This is not a maintenance role. This is a seat at the table.
We're looking for a Lead Engineer, Infrastructure who wants to shape the future of a modern, cloud-first environment, not just support it. You'll step into a senior leadership role where your voice directly influences technology decisions, architecture, and long-term roadmap.

This role reports directly to the VP of Infrastructure and Cloud Services, offering strong visibility and direct alignment with executive leadership.

You'll be operating in a healthcare setting where infrastructure directly supports real-world impact, but this team prioritizes strong technical leadership, healthcare experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities
Own the Infrastructure Vision

• Lead the design, evolution, and performance of cloud and on-prem infrastructure
• Drive scalability, reliability, and modernization across all systems

Influence Strategy

• Play a key role in shaping and executing the infrastructure and technology roadmap
• Partner with leadership to align technology with long-term organizational goals

Lead and Elevate the Team

• Mentor and develop infrastructure engineers
• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement

Drive High-Impact Projects

• Lead complex infrastructure initiatives from concept through execution
• Ensure delivery aligns with both technical standards and business priorities

Vendor & Partner Management

• Manage strategic vendors and outsourced partners
• Ensure performance, accountability, and alignment with internal goals

Security & Reliability

• Strengthen security posture across systems (Zero Trust, MDR, endpoint protection)
• Ensure compliance, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity

Incident & Escalation Management

• Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical and security issues
• Lead response efforts for high-severity incidents with clarity and urgency

Optimize & Innovate

• Continuously improve performance, scalability, and user experience
• Identify and implement emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions, where they add real value

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering and technical leadership
• Proven ability to lead large-scale initiatives and influence technical strategy

Strong expertise in:

• Microsoft Azure and cloud-first architecture
• Microsoft 365 ecosystem
• Identity and access management (Entra ID, Active Directory)
• Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Security tools and frameworks (Defender, Intune, MDR, Zero Trust architecture)
• Networking technologies (Meraki, Fortinet, Zscaler)

You also bring:

• Strong technical judgment with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
• Leadership experience with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent communication skills across both technical and executive audiences

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Certifications such as CISSP or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
