Estimator/Project Manager

The Estimator/Project Manager is a key player in how we grow, how we serve our customers, and how we keep jobs running efficiently. In this role, you'll support AMI on both fronts: helping us win new work and ensuring repeat business by working with operations and office staff to make sure projects are completed per plans, on time, in budget, and profitably.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates using plans, takeoffs, and site analysis
• Assemble and present submittals and ensure customer approval is received
• Create handoff packages for operations
• Attend internal AMI scheduling meetings when needed
• Obtain subcontractor bids and vendor pricing
• Support scheduling and operations by creating phasing maps and providing accurate measurements
• Provide field measurements, markings, and site photos before, during, and after the project when needed
• Visit sites to confirm site readiness when needed
• Attend customer pre-construction, progress, and quality control meetings
• Maintain and build customer relationships
• Ensure change orders are sent timely and accurately; obtain customer approvals and communicate them to the field
• Work closely with foremen and crews to maintain quality and production
• Coordinate with accounting to provide measurements for accurate job costing, efficiency, and billing

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, project management, or a related role in paving/civil construction (or a strong background in a related trade)
• Ability to read plans and perform accurate takeoffs
• Strong communication skills — comfortable in customer-facing meetings and on the jobsite
• Proficiency with estimating and scheduling software (or willingness to learn AMI's systems)
• Valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites as needed
