Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and competence of subject matter associated withteaching assignment. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progressreports as required. Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated Prepare written lessons for classes assigned. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning withinthe limits of the resources provided by the school.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.Strive to implement, by instruction and action, the districts philosophy of education andinstructional goals and objectives.Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materialsand facilities. Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, School CommitteePolicy and administrative regulations. Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and SchoolCommittee policy. Accept a share of responsibility for supervising and monitoring both formal and informalnon-classroom activities.Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and theirparents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assignedstudents.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshopsin order to maintain and improve professional competence. Attend staff meetings, and serve on committees as required. Collaborate with teacher assistants.
