Overview: Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in US providing a wide range of Energy related products and services to its customers, and seeks an accomplished Paralegal (Defense Litigation).
Position: Paralegal (Defense Litigation)
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 6 months Contract with high possibility of extension!!!
Note:
- Training ONSITE (2–3 months)
- Hybrid role - 2–3 months fully onsite (training period) || Hybrid schedule thereafter (minimum 3 days in office)
- Work schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Proven experience in New York Insurance Defense Litigation.
- Hands-on experience with Asbestos litigation.
- Strong drafting and communication skills.
- Familiarity with discovery demands, motions, and good faith letters.
- Solid understanding of New York procedural rules (CPLR).
- Preferred not required qualifications: Experience processing authorizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Seeking a Litigation Paralegal with a strong background in New York Insurance Defense and Asbestos litigation to join our team on a contract basis.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
- Manage document production and maintain case files.
- Coordinate with internal teams on discovery requests.
- Conduct legal research and cite-check briefs.
- Handle e-filing via PACER and NYSCEF.
- Track deadlines in accordance with CPLR and court rules.
- Maintain legal holds and document repositories.
- Support attorneys with all aspects of litigation.
