Our client, a US Fortune 250 company and a global medical technology corporation serving customers in Clinical Labs, Health care research & Pharmaceutical industry, seeks an accomplished Engineering Lab Technician

Job Title: Engineering Lab Technician

Location: Salt Lake City Utah 84116

Duration: 6-Month Contract with possible extension

Pay Rate: $21/hr – $24/hr (depending on experience)

Work Schedule: On-site

Position Summary

This role supports engineering activities by assisting with testing, data collection, documentation, and laboratory operations. The position involves working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product development and testing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of test protocols and reports
• Support execution of test procedures, including setup and operation of lab equipment
• Record measurements and maintain accurate test data with limited supervision
• Organize and present data in a reportable format
• Provide process and test method training to manufacturing and QC personnel
• Track and expedite development builds through documentation and manufacturing processes
• Maintain compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and FDA regulations
• Work safely in a biohazard environment and follow all safety procedures
• Support system assurance activities including documentation, testing, and inspection
• Assist with product and process development and non-conformance investigations
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
• Participate in product failure analysis and root cause investigations
• Assist in concept development, product design, and evaluation of new materials and technologies
• Support development and testing of new products

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Science, Math, or Engineering (or currently pursuing a 4-year degree)
• OR
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience

Required Skills

• Hands-on lab experience
• Strong attention to detail, especially with data sheets and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the medical device industry

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Minitab and Microsoft Excel
• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices
• Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
• Ability to collect, record, and report data accurately
• Technical writing capabilities
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work under supervision
• Strong team collaboration and communication skills
• Familiarity with testing and manufacturing equipment
