Summary Objective
This role is designed for a motivated, growth-oriented professional who is eager to build a career in trust and wealth management by generating new relationships, new accounts, and new assets under management (AUM).
Essential Functions
Initial focus will be on outbound business development activities, including identifying prospects, initiating contact, and scheduling meetings for senior business line managers. Over time, the position will evolve into an independent business development role with responsibility for managing a personal pipeline and bringing on new business.

Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise work with fingers; 2) Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, loudly, or quickly; 3) Hearing – perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make the discriminations in sound. 4) Specific vision abilities required by this job include: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading along with travel as required.
Sedentary work may require occasionally lifting of up to 10 pounds and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel
Extensive travel is required. Rolling month average will be 3 weeks predominantly in-market travel and 1 week in-office remote work. Travel will include visiting prospects, attending networking events, and others as assigned, as well as visiting headquarters in Johnstown, PA.
Competencies
A bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field required. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school education/GED with prior experience in sales, business development, banking, financial services or a related field required. Exposure to trust services, wealth management, or fiduciary concepts is a strong plus, but not mandatory. Comfort with outbound outreach and persistence in pursuing long-term opportunities. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage professionally with clients, prospects, and internal partners. Highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable working toward defined activity and performance goals.

Business Development & Sales Activity
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities for AmeriServ’s Trust and Wealth Services platform.
- Execute outbound business development activity: including direct in-person outreach, phone calls, emails, and other prospective efforts to generate qualified meetings.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings between prospective clients and senior Trust and Wealth professionals.
- Maintain consistent outreach activity aligned with business development goals and metrics.
- Coordinate with senior business line managers throughout the sales process, including follow-up and internal communication to help ensure opportunities progress and close.
- Over time, develop and manage an individual pipeline of prospects, including leading meetings and advancing opportunities independently.
- Track activity, prospects, and opportunities using internal systems.
