This position provides advice and assistance when problems or questions about the job or departmental operations arise; demonstrates excellent performance in the execution of duties and responsibilities. This position also serves all departments in coordination, implementation and auditing of the required quality system policy, procedures, and work instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintains Kosher, HACCP, and other quality and food safety programs
• Manages department activities and executes as per quality assurance programs.
• Carries out management responsibilities for quality assurance department in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Coordinates with other departments, suppliers and external customers on quality results, issues and requirements.
• Manages, writes and maintains all customer specifications.
• Reviews in-line quality assurance reports, production reports, testing reports and other departmental reports.
• Organizes internal audits and prepares for external audits.
• Coordinates product release and Certificate of Compliance and Analysis for customers.
• Manages the incoming material control program.
• Manages the QA Hold program of raw materials, production rejects, and customer returns.
• Assists in investigating and resolving customer complaints.
• Conducts Root Cause Analysis for quality or food safety deviations.
• Writes corrective action plans for RCA and deviations.
• Monitors laboratory activities and supplies.
• Attends all company and department required training.
• Laboratory Supervision and scheduling of laboratory personnel.
• Assist in compiling regulatory filing documents and in maintaining computerized files to support all documentation systems
• Coordinate with the QC Director regarding the review and revision of procedures, specifications and forms
• Maintain internal audit documentation and records required for third party audits, and assist with audits as assigned
• Assist with internal audits in various departments
• Manage and maintain document control to assure compliance with ISO requirements
• Manage and maintain company Socio-Economic program
• Perform other duties needed
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities:
• Supervise all monitoring activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
• Enforces compliance with company GMP guidelines on the line and throughout the plant.
• Supervise verification of monitoring activities to assure finished product comply with food and safety quality specifications.
• Acts as the QA lead in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.
• Interface with other departments and trainers to develop and implement food safety programs as required.
• Reports all safety, quality, issues, and deviations to upper management.
• Comply with all Plant, State, Federal, OSHA, EPA, FDA, and HACCP guidelines and regulations for food safety, quality, and employee safety.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices requirements to ensure food safety, safe work practices
• Plans and conducts all plant wide training for all programs required for food safety and food quality.
• Authority to develop, implement, and manage food safety programs
• Act as the primary GFCO contact
• Supervise the production of certified product during each shift where it is produced
