| State: GeorgiaThe Emergency Medical Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and prioritizing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate resources, and providing pre-arrival instructions. This role requires strong judgment, calmness under pressure, and the ability to coordinate field units efficiently while maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch crews and monitor their routes and status.
- Provide pre-arrival instructions and crisis intervention.
- Communicate critical details to ambulance crews.
- Operate multi-line phone and radio systems.
- Enter call data into the CAD system and maintain records.
- Verify and input insurance information accurately.
- Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
Minimum six (6) months experience in customer service or other direct customer contact work required
Minimum six (6) months call center experience in a fast-paced work environment required
Must have or be able to pass the EMD program within 1 – 3 months of hire and maintain certification during employment.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems or a strong aptitude for learning relevant technology.
Strong typing skills with data entry experience.
Thorough understanding of emergency procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
Proficiency in oral and written English communication with the ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure situations.
