Hotel Maintenance Technician (New Construction)

Amerilodge Group is almost ready to open our newest hotel in Kalamazoo, a Holiday Inn Express! We are looking for a Hotel Maintenance Technician to assist with the final touches of new construction, and then stay on as our Hotel Maintenance Technician! Your expertise will help bring our wonderful hospitality environment to life, creating welcoming spaces for guests and staff alike. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with construction teams to install and test building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components using schematics and technical diagrams.
• Perform basic repairs on structural elements or equipment as needed to ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
• Conduct inspections to verify system integrity and troubleshoot issues promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities for tracking work orders, inspections, and repairs.
• Provide excellent customer service by coordinating with project managers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations during construction.
• Assist in painting or finishing tasks as part of overall facility preparation when required.
• Carrying out a preventative maintenance that creates a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy
• Overseeing physical operations – from maintenance and repair to security and servicing
• Building strong relationships with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed

Requirements

• Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields is a plus
• Ability to apply appropriate resolution to stressful situations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals effectively.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation, reporting, and collaboration across teams.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

• Facilities maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
• Hotel: 3 years (Preferred)
• Pool maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)
