GRID Alternatives’ SolarCorps AmeriCorps Fellowship Program is an opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic community members to join GRID Alternatives for an 11-month paid service term. In this position, members will gain valuable experience in the renewable energy and non-profit industries while making significant contributions to communities most impacted by environmental and economic injustice!
Member Duties : SolarCorps Workforce Technical Training Fellows will expand economic opportunity by serving with the workforce and volunteer team to support GRID’s workforce development initiatives and contribute to 350 un- and underemployed individuals from underserved communities receiving job training and placement support in the renewable energy field. Essential functions include: Assist in teaching solar and clean energy workshops and labs Attend local events to promote community awareness of GRID’s training programs Assist in recruiting and selecting trainees, and follow up if needed Assist in trainee installation days Support in the creation and documentation of required documents for programming
