What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Partnerships Fellow position at AmeriCorps?
The Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service at GW is seeking a VISTA to serve as School and Community Partnerships Fellow VISTA in the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). The VISTA will increase the capacity of the DCPS team through new research, partnership development, identification of best practices, and creation of new tools. The VISTA will work for one year with GW and DCPS staff and community members and will be able to build education and community-school-related knowledge and experience, as well partnership development, project management, and communication skills. The VISTA will have the opportunity to work on a collaborative team, dedicated to serving school communities furthest from opportunity. We are seeking candidates who excel in relationship-building, are results-oriented, have strong communication skills and experience working with data. This is a full-time (40hrs a week) 12-month service term with the GWServes AmeriCorps VISTA Program.

- Create systems for quarterly data collection and support for users
- Develop communication strategies using various mediums, including social media campaigns

- Improve capacity to gather data, assess program quality and report information about school partnerships
- Increase awareness of school partnership programs among students, families, and broader school communities
- Increase financial, human, and in-kind resources as well as strengthened infrastructure to meet student needs
