What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strengths Educational Support Coordinator VISTA position at AmeriCorps?
Coordinate efforts with peer National Service members, SBS staff members, school principals, teachers, and administration to identify a core group of 40 middle/high school students. Develop a core group of 40 middle/high school students. Coordinate with SBS staff members, school principals, and teachers to arrange opportunities for 40 students to take the Talents and StrengthsFinder assessment. Collect and aggregate data from the StrengthsFinder assessments and ensure data is passed to the Strengths Corps program supervisor. Organize two workshops for students, SBS staff members,school staff, and community members to identify substance abuse issues from their perspectives. Research and develop one document/spreadsheet focused on substance use prevention programs, curriculum, materials, organizations, volunteer speakers and other opportunities available in Logan County to share with students, teachers, family members, and community members.
