What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026 Housing Forward | Housing Action Corps | Data position at AmeriCorps?
The Data Analytics VISTA will serve with Housing Forward in Maywood, IL from September 2026-2027. Housing Forward is part of Housing Action Corps, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. Housing Action Corps members receive custom training, support, and networking opportunities in housing and community development, in addition to the traditional benefits of AmeriCorps VISTA. Housing Forward is a leading organization assisting individuals and families in west suburban Cook County who are experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Our mission is to transition people from housing crisis to housing stability. As an integral member of our System Performance Team, the Data Analytics VISTA will improve data quality, streamline data processes, and enhance data analytics. Their data analysis will inform strategic decision making to address homelessness in our community by defining need, identifying service gaps, and targeting resources more effectively. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for improving outcomes and using data to inform decisions. They will enjoy teaching others new ways of thinking and demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills. The candidate should be well-versed in Microsoft Excel and familiar with other Office products. They must be self-motivated, organized, and good at time management. Prior database experience is a bonus, and prior homelessness experience (lived or as a service provider) is highly valued. This position offers a $500 monthly stipend.

By the end of their service, the VISTA will improve data processes for staff training and client satisfaction, as well as develop a data training manual. They will analyze, interpret, and present data to be used by the Development team in community engagement efforts. The VISTA’s data analysis and process enhancements will improve client outcomes and ensure effective and sustainable service provision long after their term ends.
