About the Role
Join the U.S.-based team of a global leader in distillation technology.
As our new Lab Technician, you will play a key role in process development by conducting laboratory testing on advanced thermal separation systems for clients across North America. This versatile position combines laboratory operations, process engineering support, equipment maintenance, and international collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Testing
- Hands-on Testing: Operate our glass laboratory plant for thin-film and short-path distillation to evaluate process feasibility
Documentation & Reporting
- Develop testing protocols in collaboration with clients
- Analyze test results and prepare comprehensive reports
Operations & Site Management
- Support daily laboratory operations at the Gastonia facility
- Maintain laboratory and process equipment
- Assist in developing and managing the local spare parts service business
Qualifications
Education:
- Technical degree or relevant technical background required, preferably in mechanical engineering, chemical processing, or a related field
- Knowledge of heat transfer and thermal process technology is a plus
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on approach to mechanical work and lab maintenance
Travel Requirements:
- International travel to VTA Headquarters in Germany (occasionally)
- Ability and willingness to travel the US and Canada (approximately 10-15% travel)
Communication & Software Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with CRM systems or CAD systems is a plus
