The Payment Processing Representative supports daily payment operations by accurately processing transactions, reconciling payment data, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance standards. This role will perform accounting duties of standard complexity in accordance with ACU policy and procedures.
Requirements:Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily processing deadlines for wires, checks, SEG payrolls, RDCs, currency orders, and online banking transfer requests. Reconciles general or subsidiary ledgers daily with corresponding processing tasks. Properly document daily any reconciliations completed. Confirm compliance standards are adhered to with all transactions conducted.
Readily assist frontline and other support staff with inquiries or requests related to ACH, wires, member account research, stop payments, official checks, and unauthorized transactions.
Posts and reconciles daily card transaction data using Symitar reports in conjunction with JHA Reports. Ensure that associated general ledger accounts remain in balance, including researching and clearing any exception items identified within no more than a 36-hour period.
Process all assigned general ledger and accounting transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
Contact other departments and/or outside agencies or members to resolve any unusual occurrences or issues that may arise within daily operations.
Carries out other responsibilities as assigned or directed.
Performance Measurements:
To process share drafts, second representative on wire transactions and RDC processing daily within required deadlines and with minimal errors to member accounts and general ledgers.
To ensure that all incoming and outgoing wires are processed within the designated timeframe of receipt without error and according to credit union policy and procedure.
To maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
Required to be on time and ready to work scheduled hours.
Assist other team members inside and outside the department with a positive, professional, and collaborative attitude.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience - One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education - A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills - Maintains a high standard of courtesy, attentiveness, and professionalism when assisting ACU team members with routine, urgent, or sensitive matters. Member and vendor communications are conducted with the same level of professionalism as applicable.
Other Skills - Must be able to use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Symitar, Synergy, Synapsys, and Windows operating system. Attention to detail with basic analysis and problem-solving skills, along with team collaboration.

Work Environment - This position is a hybrid environment of 2 days’ work from home and 3 days in the office, with Wednesday required in the office. Standard business hours of operation with federal holidays off. This is a fasted paced environment as the tasks this position will accomplish are time sensitive.
