Primary Role
Performs a variety of tasks in assisting and participating in the locating, laying, repairing, and extending underground water mains and distribution pipes.
Key Accountabilities
- Sets up barricades and places safety lights around work site to protect workers from street traffic.
- Jetting sewer mains with combo jet/vac machine.
- Televise sewer mains using CCTV sewer equipment.
- General checkouts of lift stations.
- Pump maintenance and investigative work.
- Responsible for GIS assets.
- Investigates complaints and determines corrective action per company procedure.
- Completes all necessary forms, sketches, field notes and uses maps and records.
- Drives vehicles and/or trucks in performance of general job.
- Obtains and records water meter readings in company’s service area to ensure accurate billing of customers’ accounts within established timeframes.
- Responds to customer inquiries accurately and professionally.
- Performs turn ons and turn offs as necessary.
- Responsible for PA1 Call mark outs.
- Sampling for IPP program.
- Performs any duties as assigned by supervisor or foreperson.
- Mechanical ability sufficient to understand the operation of pumps, valves, motors and other mechanical equipment related to operations and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of distribution/collection systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year in construction, plumbing, and/or building trades.
- Wastewater experience is a plus!
- As required. License requirements vary by state. Candidate must possess Class E Wastewater Distrbution License and Class B CDL or have the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
- This role requires a DOT physical and WorkSteps.
- Outdoor work during seasonal heat and cold, and other adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to perform essential functions and meet the physical requirements for the position.
