Job Summary:

VDOT is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to implement, configure, manage, and provide strategic guidance for cloud infrastructure within its Azure environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Azure cloud services, enterprise infrastructure, cloud migrations, disaster recovery, security, networking, and operational monitoring in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, monitor, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure and resources.

• Design and enforce Azure networking and security policies.

• Plan and execute cloud migration initiatives from on-premises environments to Azure.

• Manage enterprise backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.

• Provide production support and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues.

• Develop and maintain Azure monitoring dashboards, alerts, and observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Workbooks, and Alerts.

• Work closely with development and operations teams supporting technologies such as:

• .NET
• Java
• SQL Server
• Oracle
• Microsoft Dynamics
• • Lead vulnerability remediation efforts and support security initiatives using tools such as Tenable.
• • Create and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and prevent data loss.
• • Provide technical guidance to team members, management, and executive leadership.
• • Ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with enterprise security and compliance standards.

Required Skills:

• 8 years of experience implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and managing Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

• 8 years of experience planning and executing cloud migrations from on-premises environments to Azure.

• 8 years of experience working in mission-critical enterprise environments.

• 8 years of experience designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.

• 8 years of experience implementing Azure networking and security policies.

• 8 years of experience using Azure Monitor, Workbooks, Alerts, and observability tools.

• 8 years of experience with vulnerability remediation and enterprise security initiatives.

• Strong understanding of:

• Azure Virtual Networks (VNet)
• NSGs
• Load Balancers
• Azure Security Services
• Identity and Access Management
• Backup & Recovery Solutions
• • Strong networking knowledge including:
• OSI Model
• TCP/IP
• Routing & Switching
• Network Protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Azure Certifications:

• Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
• Azure Security Engineer Associate
• • Networking Certifications:
• CompTIA Network
• CCNA
• CCNP
• • Experience supporting large-scale government or enterprise cloud environments.
