Description
American Traveler is hiring a General Ultrasound Technologist at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification and at least 1 year of experience with proficiency in abdominal doppler imaging.
Details
- General Ultrasound department at a large acute care teaching hospital
- 865-bed Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma facility
- Daily caseload varies by assignment
- Proficiency in abdominal doppler imaging is required
- Charting performed in Epic
- Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts, Monday through Thursday, 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM with holiday rotation
- No on-call requirement
- May float between main campus and ART campus within clinical scope
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of General Ultrasound experience
- Proficiency in abdominal doppler imaging required
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required
- Graduated from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- SC state ultrasound licensure is not required; license required if applicable
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are generally not accepted; candidates must have completed at least one prior travel assignment — an exception may be made for first-time travelers coming from a large teaching facility
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and are subject to facility approval
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- Scrub colors are teal tops and black bottoms
- Parking is available nights and weekends with a one-time $20 parking pass fee
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
