Description
American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and an active Colorado Surgical Technologist license for a day shift OR position at an ambulatory surgery center in Vail, CO.

- Ambulatory surgery center (ASC) OR setting in Vail, CO
- Surgical Technologist role supporting scrub and OR technologist functions
- Patient population spans all age groups, from neonatal/infant through geriatric
- Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of surgical technologist experience required
- Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist program
- Active Colorado Surgical Technologist license required — license required if applicable
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Working knowledge of AORN standards
- Ability to stand for approximately 50% of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Must have working knowledge of English, including reading, writing, and speaking
Additional Information
- Ensure and maintain the integrity of a sterile surgical field throughout invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
- Provide instrumentation and support to the surgical team during procedures
- Monitor sterile field for potential contamination events and initiate or communicate corrective actions as needed
- Maintain and verify proper packaging, processing, seal integrity, sterile indicators, and expiration dates on all items
- Participate fully in the Time Out process, including pre-procedure briefings and post-procedure debriefings
- Assist with patient transport, room turnovers, and room preparation
- Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
- Stay current with new technologies, procedures, instrumentation, and equipment relevant to the role
- Functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Working toward or competent with Tier 1 surgical cases
