Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a General OR position at a Level IV Trauma Critical Access Hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and flexibility to support a surgery-volume-driven schedule.
Details
- Critical Access Hospital setting with 54 staffed beds and 5 OR suites
- General OR unit supporting a broad surgical caseload including orthopedic, general surgery, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, and GI procedures
- Common procedures include total joints, arthroscopies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, appendectomies, bowel resections, C-sections, hysterectomies, cystoscopies, tonsillectomies, and EGDs/colonoscopies
- Day shift, 7:00–15:30, scheduled at 36 hours per week; daily hours fluctuate based on surgery volume and require flexibility
- On-call required every 2nd–3rd night and every 2nd–3rd weekend
- No floating required
- Charts in Epic; 1 year of Epic experience preferred
- Scrubs are provided in the OR; any color is acceptable
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical tech experience required
- CST (NBSTSA) or NCCT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Washington state license required if applicable
- Proficiency across multiple surgical specialties including orthopedic, general, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, and endoscopic procedures
- Ability to work a flexible, surgery-volume-driven schedule
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor
- All required certifications must be active at time of consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Previous PeaceHealth employees (travel or permanent) must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates without a Washington license in hand must provide proof of license application; start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed
- No RTO restrictions, though all time-off requests must be disclosed upfront and approved prior to contract signing
