Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a CA RN license, ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications, and 2-3 years of PACU or critical care experience with adult and pediatric populations.
Details
- Position is based in the main hospital PACU unit
- Cares for adult and pediatric patients recovering from major surgeries including general, vascular, neuro, orthopedic, and trauma procedures
- Schedule consists of 3 scheduled 12-hour shifts plus 1 on-call shift per week
- Day shift with start times varying between 7:30 AM and 10:30 AM
- When assigned to Pre-op, start times may be as early as 6:00 AM
- When on call, must be able to report to the PACU within 30 minutes
Requirements
- Active CA RN license currently in hand
- ADN education required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 2-3 years of PACU and/or critical care experience with both adult and pediatric patients
- Pre-op experience required
- Proficiency in post-anesthesia monitoring including vital signs, level of consciousness, and pain management
- Ability to recognize and respond to airway complications
- Experience administering and titrating medications including pain management and anesthesia reversal agents
- Competence in starting and managing IV lines
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and accurate clinical documentation
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include caring for patients post-anesthesia following a wide range of major surgical procedures
- Must be available and able to arrive on-site within 30 minutes when on call
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
