Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least two years of large OR experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- 13-week assignment with a Monday through Friday schedule starting at 6:30 AM
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts
- Floating between departments and/or local facilities within 20 miles is required
Requirements
- Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact)
- BLS required through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- ACLS and PALS preferred if obtained
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
- Minimum two years of current experience in a large OR setting
- Must be able to scrub
- Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
- Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular experience a plus
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols
- Assume clinical supervision responsibilities for LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
- Complete population and procedure-specific education and competency testing per unit standards
- Must be a team player, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not eligible
- Former Presbyterian Health Services staff must wait one year before being eligible for rehire as a traveler
